                                                                   Marine Museum (Located in the santuary of St. James)

 

The Marine Museum celebrates Great Village's heyday as a shipbuilding centre. Preserved in the collection are documents, pictures and artifacts from the Age of Sail.

 

 

                                                                                         Sanctuary Museum

 

At the front of the former sanctuary of St James United Church we have preserved a number of historical artifacts from the days when local families gathered here to worship.

 

 

                                                                        Elizabeth Bishop Display (Located in the sanctuary of St. James)

 

The Elizabeth Bishop Society of Nova Scotia put together a little display to share  the connection that this famous poet has with Great Village.  The name of the cafe is taken from the prose "In The Village" written by Elizabeth Bishop.
